Online Connector makes it easy to reach your customers wherever they are with our unique mobile marketing tools. Normally only available to large organisations, these features are included with all Online Connector accounts.

Your Online Connector account includes:

• Broadcast SMS - send bulk text messages to your subscribers.
• Inbound SMS - your own keyword on our UK shortcode and international number , so you can receive text messages.
• SMS triggers - perform automated actions based on the content of incoming messages, for example sending back responses or adding an email address to a list.

All of this can be done with just a few clicks, in any web browser.

Perfect for a direct response mechanism from adverts, posters, flyers and more.

You ask customers to send in a text containing specific keywords and they are then sent back a message containing further details. You also capture their number in the process so if they consent you can contact them later. You can use different keywords on different posters to deliver different response messages and to track the response to different executions of your advert.

Text Destination

You can choose from a number of different ways to let users text into the system. Users are always charged at their standard network rate for sending a message into our system.

Shared Shortcode: You get free use of our 5 digit UK shortcode (works on all UK networks). You have your own keyword which all messages must begin with.

Shared Long Number (MSISDN): You also get free use of our standard number (looks like a normal UK mobile number). This is accessible worldwide. All your campaigns work on both this and the shortcode by default.

Dedicated Shortcode*: For maximum flexibility you can have your own shortcode number (we can arrange shortcodes for the UK, US and many European countries) - this means you do not need each message to begin with the same keyword.

Dedicated Long Number*: Offers the flexibility of not needing a keyword with the advantage of being internationally accessible. Available at substantially lower cost than shortcodes and usually available within 24 hours.

*Additional monthly and setup charges and 12 month minimum contracts apply.

Analysis

When a message is received its contents are checked and the first and second words (the 'keyword' and 'sub-keyword') are used to determine which actions are taken next. If no keywords are recognised the sender is sent an error message.

Action

You can perform a number of actions when a message is received. You can also perform a combination of actions.

Store Number: The sender's mobile number is stored in your Mobile Marketeer database.

Store Message: Any information in the message after the keyword is stored in your database.

Send to Email: The message and sender number is delivered to an email address you specify.

Call URL: The message, sender number and mobile network are passed to your own script using a HTTP POST command (for advanced users!)

Response

You can choose to send no response to the sender or one or both of:

Text SMS: A standard 160 character text message.

Binary SMS: A monophonic ringtone, operator logo or picture message.

Billing

There is no charge to the user, you are charged 1 SMS credit for each message sent.
